SHORT TRIP TRAVEL INSURANCE
Why would you want to go on a diving holiday when you're not fit to dive? You wouldn't, and we understand this, but most travel insurers would not cover you for cancelling your holiday if you were still fit to travel!
If you and/or your family take more than one holiday a year, you could save both time and money with an annual multi trip diving and travel policy.
This is a medical and repatriation insurance (including IDEC) for divers who will be outside the United Kingdom for a period in excess of 6 months.
Cover is also provided for the cost of lost diving days due to illness at resort and for diving equipment up to £1000 including during use*(see below).
Policies are available on a 'short trip' basis for locations ranging from UK to Europe to Worldwide so that your policy is tailored to your holiday, and include all the usual travel insurance benefits listed below. Diver Travel cover is available to EU citizens and certain foreign nationals travelling from their home country.
Non diving members of a group can take out travel insurance without IDEC.
ANNUAL MULTI TRIP TRAVEL & DIVING COVER
Our policy has two parts:
- a travel section for individuals, couples or families,
- and a separate section (IDEC) to cover the divers in your family.
That way, the price and policy can be tailored to suit your own family.
The policy offers worldwide cover (including UK), with no limit to the number of trips you can take (up to 60 days per trip), and includes up to 17 days winter sports cover. The diving section gives worldwide cover 365 days of the year.
Benefits include cover for cancellation of a diving holiday if you are medically unfit to dive (even if you are fit to travel), cover for the cost of lost pre-booked & pre paid diving days due to illness at resort, and up to £1000 worth of diving equipment (£200 per item) - including while in use.
All family members or partners to be insured must be resident at the same address.
For Family policies, children to be insured must be under 16.
WORLDWIDE DIVER
Cover is totally worldwide and includes cover for up to 17 days winter sports. This policy has all the standard cover you expect from a medical and repatriation insurance (detailed in the table below but excluding the cancellation section).
There is also cover for up to £1000 diving equipment including whilst in use*, and £20 per day (up to £100) for the hire of lost diving (or skiing) equipment during a period of travel. There is up to £150 available for loss of diving activity days due to injury or illness which first occurs on the trip and prevents the Insured Person engaging in sports diving.
There is no cover for cancellation or curtailment under this policy.
* If your diving equipment is valued over £1000 in total or if any item is valued at over £200, we recommend you take out Section 3 - Annual Dive Equipment Insurance to ensure you are fully covered.
