INTERNATIONAL DIVING EMERGENCY CARD
What happens if you are injured in a diving accident anywhere in the world? Who pays the immediate hyperbaric and medical costs? Who seeks and finds expert medical help? Who monitors your medical progress when you are in hospital? Who keeps your relatives informed of the situation? Will your life be covered under your existing non-diving policies?
If you are relying on your Travel Insurance to cover your sport diving risk you might be taking a bigger risk than you realise.
Part of IDEC's strength is the assistance you receive when you are injured in a diving accident. MEDEX assistance provide multilingual assistance 24 hours a day. MEDEX provide a network of Regional Medical Advisors (usually diving doctors of international repute) who are tasked to liaise with your treatment centre or doctor to ensure that the treatment you receive is appropriate for a diving injury. They can also arrange air evacuation or repatriation home if necessary.
IDEC's benefits are available to you worldwide. This means that if you are injured in a diving accident in the UK, or if you are injured at a resort and require follow up medical treatment, IDEC can provide private medical benefits of up to £133,000 if deemed necessary.
If you are injured at resort where you dive, the medical benefits still continue after you return home.
