LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR DIVE SCHOOLS AND CENTRES

When choosing liability insurance there are many questions you will need to ask to make sure you will be insured for all the risks associated with running a dive business.

You need to be sure that, so long as you are acting within the relevant Approved Code of Practice, you will be properly covered in the event that you or your staff, cause injury or loss to a third party or their property.

There are many insurance policies available to cover your business, but very few of them will have been written specifically for running a dive business. Many of the polices will be based on or adapted from standard retail or commercial insurance policies, and would not provide adequate cover in the event of a claim associated with many aspects of running a dive business.

* Contingent liability for handling boats up to 15 metres in length (There must be a local policy in place on the boat first)
* Principals (ie Schools/Hotels/Tour Operators) joined in a suit against you
* All advice given by your employees - full time, part time, or voluntary
* The liability of operating a compressor
* Product Liability on your goods & services (inc. the quality of air you pump)
* Employer's Liability insurance required by UK law for diving & non diving staff (UK only)
